If you’re unable to play the game at the moment, do not worry, we’ll be under maintenance for a few days as we transfer your penguin data over to our HTML5 client!
Many are probably asking what is the HTML5 client that I’m speaking of, in simple terms, it is basically a way for players to continue playing even without Flash Player.
(Outdated picture of the HTML5 client from a previous post)
I’m here to answer every single question that we’ve been seeing lately, hopefully this settles everything nicely:
Will my data be saved? I’m scared of losing my items, stamps, friends and igloos!
Yes, every single thing from the Club Penguin Rewritten Flash version will be transferred over to the more superior HTML5 version. This is why we will be under maintenance for a few days, it can take a while to transfer over eight million accounts.
Will everything be the same on the HTML5 client?
Yes, we won’t be changing anything. We have made some improvements to the igloo system which you can take a quick read on over at our previous blog post here.
Is everything fully ready on the HTML5 client, like all the mini-games?
Unfortunately, due to the time we were given, it has been increasingly difficult to get everything out on time but we are working around the clock to get everything ready for you guys in the upcoming months. Players can still play potentially 8 mini-games at launch, those that we are certain will be on the island are:
- Hydro hopper
- Dance contest (if a bug is fixed before launch)
- Astro barrier
- Thin ice
- Puffle roundup
- Ice fishing
- Bean counters (perhaps at launch or close to launch)
The other mini-games we’re currently looking into (we’re deeply looking at performance) would be mini-games such as the Pizzatron mini-game and Cart Surfer. We will progressively going down the list of more mini-games such as Card-Jitsu as a priority.
Will my puffles be there at launch and will they still be changing their looks?
Puffles will be another priority of ours, we will also be changing the looks to them to the more “modernised” look, however, they were the 2011 change of the puffles.
Will parties still be occurring on the island?
Yup, we plan on still doing parties. Our schedule for those will not change. However, bugs and fixes will be priority for a short while.
What is happening with the Club Penguin Times?
The newspaper is under maintenance, this is due to the fact that it can be a little difficult to continue development of other things and also focus on delivering the weekly content such as the newspaper. It will be arriving shortly after many other things that are of more priority.
Can I play the game on Mobile, if so, how?
Quite simple, you can play Club Penguin Rewritten on mobile by simply heading to any browser on your mobile and going to play page of the game (https://play.cprewritten.net).
We plan to update the UI to make it more mobile friendly very soon, but as you would be able to see once you’re able to play, it’ll be very smooth and enjoyable!
When can I find out instantly when the game is back up and running?
You can join our Discord to know more about the game and speak to staff directly. Administrators do announcements instantly when an update is out or is about to be pushed out.
You can join here, please make sure you are the correct age to be joining, thank you.
There you go guys, I hope that answers your questions you might have. As a summary, many things will be ready at launch including stamps, igloo editing, chatting, waddling, friending, postcards, etc. The only thing to be missing would be the rest of the mini-games and puffles. We expect to be fully complete very soon, however, players can continue playing the game as we continue development.
Until then… Waddle on!
