A lot has been happening behind the scenes over the months. From us working on new mini-games to releasing puffles soon (happening in February), and so much more!
It is safe to say that we are now comfortable working in our HTML5 development environment. It was a long process and we had a lot of difficulties understanding the new ways of programming. We are now at the point that we can resume development at the same speed as how we had it in Flash.
My first topic on this small but juicy development post will be about puffles. Oh my, you’ve all been waiting for it and now it is the time to finally speak up on it. It’s been so difficult keeping it a surprise, but hey, now I can finally answer all those questions about your puffles you’ve been asking about.
Since the switch to HTML5, penguins have been wanting more interactive experiences, similar to our Flash version of CPRewritten. We knew that penguins could easily get bored without their beloved puffles by their side, we sped up the development insanely quick due to this reason.
We’ve made puffles incredibly more interactive on our HTML5 version, including a brand new puffle care system prompt that you can see above. This allows you to have a 1:1 interactive mode with your puffle(s) and allows you to easily access the Pet care book to purchase more food and gifts for your puffle(s).
You can also view your adoption certificate for the puffle that you have adopted, how sweet is that? All certificates are given to you for every puffle you purchase. And for those asking, your previous pets from the Flash version of CPRewritten have been saved and they will be inside your igloo once they have been released.
Oh, but we’re not done there. We know how to release something as cool as this with a bang, the right way, that is why in February you will be introduced to a beauty of a party which is the Puffle Party 2022. How fun, see you all there.
The crabs are storming to the island, but who is the captain of that ship? It is said to be one of the many ships that Shellbeard himself has captured. Shellbeard is an angry old turtle, with a voice that echoes through the seas.
Big thanks to August Renders (in-game username) for the amazing model!
Sightings have been seen of Shellbeard next to Shipwreck Island. The same island that penguins on our island have been spotted on in the past. The motive is unclear for this strange appearance.
If you see him on the island, make sure to give him a reminder who the real captain of the island is… which is Rockhopper, by the way.
Thank you all for reading this small development blog post, next blog post will be the Holiday Igloo Contest Winners and also the percentages for the Coins for Change results!
Until then… Waddle on!
