What’s Going On? #5

By Stu on November 14, 2018 | Comments

Hi Penguins,

Festive times are heading our way, which means more content for your eyes, and perhaps a lot of Christmas music for your ears.

IN-GAME CONTENT

The content we push out for you all is important. The community is always in the hearts of ours when creating content updates for the island for you all to discover and experience.

Catalogs

We’ve released a lot of catalogs for the event that’s going on currently on the island, hyping you up to what’s to come and giving you a chance to decorate your igloos with a calming vibe to it. Upon heavy requests from our community, we’ve also released the classic igloo for the first time in the igloo catalog!

Spooky Past

This year we released our biggest Halloween party ever, reaching up to many thousands of players logging in each day to collect new items, meeting Gary, doing quests, and more!

Did you know that one of the meet-ups for Gary was actually recorded and uploaded on our official YouTube channel? Check to see if you were noticed by watching the video here

Puffle Stats

Over the past year, we’ve been noticing players struggling with interaction with their puffles which put their stats at a still point.

We pushed out an update to fix these issues. Several tests and fixes were done during this time to get the perfect balance between giving a certain amount of food or activities to your pet and them reacting to it with their stats of hunger, energy and rest.

We’ve been looking into community feedback about this, especially with the postcards being sent to the player and how fast or slow some stats go down. Changes will be made depending on if they seem fit for it.

New Paths

As you all know, the island has been shaking with rumours, or could that have been the volcano that erupted next to the Dojo this week… HMmmMM.

The volcano is starting to create more of a storyline on the island. First the island sky turning orange rather than your typical blue colour, to construction being placed at the hideout of the Dojo on the island, what could this mean?

It’s no secret that a new path is about to be created for all ninjas across the island, creating a new challenge for all penguins to compete in. It’s up to you to take the journey, and earn more than just a black belt in the arts of Card-Jitsu, introducing Fire.

You’ll be able to do the following:

• Compete up to four penguins on a single mat

• Unlock a new heated room filled with penguins

• Embark on a mysterious journey

• Collect new items for your penguin the more you play

and more…

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Some extra stuff for your amazing eyes that won’t make it in the in-game section, and is mostly an excuse to have more space on this blog post.

Two-Factor Authentication

We spoke about our Two-Factor Authentication change for Club Penguin Rewritten in our last blog post for this series, however, it’s still currently in the development/talk phase.

It’s definitely something that we’re looking into deeply and we hope to release it very shortly for all penguins that wish to keep their accounts more extra secure and all that epic stuff.

And yes, you will still receive a padlock pin for your penguin once you’ve enabled this feature. It’s something that we’ve not changed our decision on, we’ll still be making changes as the times go by, and once the release happens, another separate blog post will be made to help you with it.

Hear Our Voices in PODCAST MODEEEE

If you’ve been living under an igloo these past few months and ignoring our orange banners on the play page (please acknowledge us) then you might’ve not noticed our podcasts that we happen to be doing monthly, or whenever the time fits right for the occasion.

We’ll be doing a podcast this month to celebrate the release of Card-Jitsu Fire. This means that you’ll be able to laugh at our voices, and laugh at us losing Card-Jitsu Fire against you all, it’s two in one, what’s not to be excited about?

You can also watch our past podcast here where we speak about sneak peeks, charity work, and a QnA session with Screenhog who worked for classic Club Penguin.

A Code From A Book

Recently, we’ve been seeing a lot of penguins wondering where certain penguins are getting exclusive items from. This is perhaps from our Treasure Book collection that we recently released on Club Penguin Rewritten for all members to explore if given a code.

You may be wondering how you get these codes, and I’m here to hopefully put some light on the entire situation. You can collect these exclusive Treasure Book codes by our giveaways or chances of us releasing certain codes in other ways that we might decide on in the future if given feedback and ways to do so in a fair way.

BUGS + FIXES

Prepare your popcorn and soda machine hat that you’ve been saving up for this special moment, it’s time to embrace ourselves in the technical part

Almighty Bug Fixes:

• Fixed an issue where popular servers would crash. [Insert it’s been 84 years gif here]

• You now exit a Find Four game in the correct location and not at the previous location your penguin was in (Shout-out to those that walked a mile to get back to the Ski Lodge during this time)

• Features of puffle stats are now working.

• Wings/capes now show up on your playercard, become a pookie with more joy now!

• Coins no longer give negative coins being caused by puffles, who would’ve thought?

(Thank you to members of the community that sent us thousands of tweets showcasing your negative coins to us.)

If you have a bug report that we might’ve not fixed within the list, then please feel free to send us your bug reports at our support mail (support@cprewritten.net) or our Twitter page here.

WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS

The future is a magical place and very unpredictable, we try to make it more predictable with fun twists and turns for your excitement

Festive Time

A new Holiday cheer coming means a new party coming, and that’s CHRISTMAS!! A lot of you penguins have been wondering if we’ll be having a Christmas event this year and the answer is yes, we’ll be celebrating the Winter holidays with you all on the island and we can’t wait to show you what’s in store closer to the time.

Where That Ice Rink At Though

We hear you loud and clear, and that’s why we’ll be changing the stadium from the summer feel to the winter feel in the upcoming week. This also means that you’ll be getting an extra catalog located at the Ice Rink to fit in with the change.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to give you all a full list of what’s to come to the island, but a LOT is happening behind the scenes and it’s truly exciting, I can’t wait to share with you our sneak peeks, for now it’s best to keep up-to-date with our social media pages and our What’s New blog!

If you have any questions or concerns, make sure to leave them down below in the comments and you can expect a reply from us.

Until then… Waddle on!

Hi Penguins,

The volcano has slowly become less active after causing the sky to turn orange, however, that didn’t stop the costume creators from going wild with ideas!

Paris

First up we have Janina2, showing that the festive spirit has started on the island with an awesome outfit that looks Christmassy but also not too Christmassy, it’s a perfect balance and I can’t wait for an updated version of this outfit closer to the time.

Paris

And another celebration goes to aiden776, who rocks the island with a costume made of fur and a matching Viking Helmet to go with it. We had an all red outfit last week, and now we’re rocking an all blue outfit this week, crazy how the world works!

potw

Our last celebration goes to Oso2412, who seems to be still enjoying the monster times of the island with a detective suit to go with it. There’s never a too late moment to be dressing up your penguin in a more scarier fashion, even near the Winter times.

Which outfit did you like? Personally, all of them look amazing and I hope you think so too, leave your thoughts down below, and good luck to the winners for receiving their 5,000 coin reward!

Until then… Waddle on!

Penguin of the Week #79

By Stu on November 12, 2018 | Comments

Hi Penguins,

Another week of packed events have started, and that also means another Penguin of The Week for us all to celebrate with!

This week goes to yet another active penguin of the community, who is always up for a conversation with new members and old. You can find them being generous and fun around other players around the island, if you’re looking for a new friend to hang out with, this penguin is definitely one to look out for.

The penguin we’re most curious about is… Snowshee!

potw

Congratulations to you, Snowshee, you’ve managed to grab your flippers on 1,000 coins and a pointy Green Viking Helmet ready for your liking!

Wondering how to get a chance of becoming Penguin of The Week? Just be yourself, be active, helpful, and kind to other penguins on the island for a chance to get the spotlight on the blog for your kindness and activity.

Until then… Waddle on!

Hi Penguins,

It’s finally Friday! To greet you towards the weekend, here’s a new Reviewed by You! Last week, we asked you all what your favourite moments and experiences were from the Halloween Party. We’ve now concluded down to two submissions, the first being from OriginalXsgh, who said:

“The Halloween Party was definitely one of my favorites. Everything from being able to turn in a spooky ghost, exploring the haunted mansion, and the candy hunt was just all so well put together. Truly an amazing party that all the penguins on the island enjoyed! I cant wait for what’s in store next!”

We’re glad you enjoyed the party. The ghosts definitely caused quite a fright, whether you transformed into one or were being haunted. The candy hunt was quite a hit this year, with penguins investigating, trying to find well hidden candies. The other response comes from Sweet KItty, who said:

“My favourite moment was exploring the haunted house with Gary and all the other penguins! I loved hearing what Gary had to say and also meeting his uncle Gariwald. The haunted house was super scary and getting trough the maze was hard, but with Garys help it was a lot easier and more fun!”

You were lucky able to meet Gary himself? That’s amazing to hear! It’s also awesome to hear that Gary boosted your experience of the party!

Thanks OriginalXsgh and Sweet KItty! Both of you will have 5,000 coins added to your accounts soon.

Now if you scroll down below, you’ll find this week’s question. Good luck!

Putting the spooks and ghouls behind us, around the island lately, the sky has turned orange! Could it be a sign from the elements? Well, if that’s the case, you’re going to need a lot of ninja training to practice your skills! So, in any case – our question for you this week is: What Card Jitsu Belt are you currently on, and and how are you going to train to get the next one?  If you’re a true ninja, we’d love to hear any epic Card Jitsu battles you may have had, so feel free to include them too!

Leave your responses in the comments below, and you may even see your response featured on the blog next week, and you could earn 5,000 coins for your penguin!

Community Sunday #1

By Lataus on November 8, 2018 | Comments

Hi Penguins,

It’s nearly time to meet and greet, we’ve got a brand new meetup rolling out towards you!

We’ve been listening to your feedback, and one of the things that many of you have requested was more meetups!  Starting from this Sunday onward, meetups will be returning as a regular thing again. These meetups will reoccur on a random Sunday of every month.  In the past, meetups have had lots of various different names. We’re now simplifying the name down to a much simpler term to those in the past to show that they are all about YOU! From now on, they’ll be known as Community Sundays

You’ll be able to find more information about the meetup just below!

Meetup Time

Sunday, 11th November 2018

Time: 12:10pm PST

Server: Beanie

If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to follow the Q&A.

What is a meetup?

If you’re new or haven’t attended a Club Penguin Rewritten meetup before, you’re probably wondering what one is. Well, it’s quite simple. With meetups, you can meet, hangout and chat with various different Staff members from the Club Penguin Rewritten Team on a set schedule that is given. Additionally, you can meet different community members that you might have not met before. Before you know it, they might become your newest buddy!

Who’s on the Team?

You might also be wondering that “Who is on the Club Penguin Rewritten Team? How can I tell?” Well, the answer to that is simpler than you think! In order to recognise Staff Members, you can recognise them from their special Moderator Pin on their Player Card, as shown below. If a penguin claims to be a Staff Member and doesn’t have this pin, you should report them!

Left: A penguin with a Moderator Pin, which shows they are a Staff Member.

Right: A penguin without a Moderator Pin, which shows they are a normal player.

Feel free to invite any of your penguin friends to attend the meetup, as they are more than welcome to. You don’t want to miss it!

Until then… Waddle on!

Hi Penguins,

The volcano is causing quite the stare around the island, creating fear over the unknown, but that doesn’t stop the costume ideas from flying in…

potw

First up we have Jack, showing off the first ever party hat on Club Penguin Rewritten, with a nice black hoodie and slipper combo to go with it. A very classic, but nostalgic look for some.

potw

And a secondary celebration goes to matszucc36, who is supporting Christmas relatively early, but who doesn’t like to be festive, right? They’re also supporting those that like to wear crocs in the cold weather rather than a pair of slippers.

potw

Our last celebration goes to Pacmanghost1, who is supporting their penguin in an all red fashion. Not only are they supporting their favourite colour, but they’ve also got the Club Penguin Rewritten Improve Project hard hat on with pride, which was very exclusive at the time. A very stylish look that gives off a vibe that red is perhaps their best colour to wear.

Which outfit did you like? Personally, all of them look amazing and I hope you think so too, leave your thoughts down below, and good luck to the winners for receiving their 5,000 coin reward!

Penguin of the Week #78

By Stu on November 5, 2018 | Comments

Hi Penguins,

The blog is no longer haunted by the ghosts of Halloween but is now haunted by the ghosts of Christmas! Jokes aside, I’m sure you’re all aware that it’s another Monday celebration with some Penguin of The Week.

This week goes to an active penguin on the island that enjoys sending in fan-art and delivering incredible igloos for other users to explore and start a great party in.

The penguin we’re most curious about is… Sweetpoppy13!

potw

Congratulations to you, Sweetpoppy13, you’ve managed to grab your ghostlike flippers on 1,000 coins and a pointy Green Viking Helmet ready for your liking!

Hi Penguins,

Here’s a new Reviewed by You coming straight towards the What’s New Blog! Don’t worry, we’ve finally gotten rid of those ghosts who took over the blog last week. Anyway, back on topic. Last week, we asked you (or rather, the ghosts) what you thought what makes a ghost what they are. Now, we’ve selected two responses from two different penguins, the first being Shirokappa, who said:

“Bah! Ghastly specters, you are! The thing that defines a ghost is the memory that ghost themselves carry. Whether it be a long age old story of how one’s life goes, or the achievements and reputation built up from a single penguin, ghosts are remnants of a life that once was or what could have been.”

Well, that might be the case for natural ghosts, but believe me, the ghosts that took over the blog were nothing but normal mischievous penguins who used Gariward’s machine to transform themselves into ghosts to scare everyone. Excellent guess, though! The other response comes from Kavoor, who said:

“I think being transparent and spooky is what makes you a ghost! Ghosts are just spooktacular the way they are! They must know to scare penguins in their boots, because that’s a BASIC requirement. Ghosts can be spooky, funny, goofy – just like us penguins! Having a ghost friend surely would be nice!”

Ghosts are definitely spectacular things, and they are very much amazing, but they carry a special responsibility. What is this responsibility?  To scare penguins! Ghosts are more alike to us than you think – maybe too much alike. I’m sure they’d be grateful to be your friend, but be warned though, as you might find yourself getting spooked!

Thanks Shirokappa and Kavoor. Both of you will soon have 5,000 coins added to your accounts soon.

Now if you scroll down below, you’ll find this week’s question. Good luck!

Our Halloween Party ended just a few days ago, and it was definitely a SPOOKtacular one! Whether you were scaring penguins, brewing spells, exploring a mansion or telling ghost stories at the Cove, every single bit of it was an enjoyable experience. That’s why this week, our question for you is: What are your favourite moments and experiences from the Halloween Party?

Leave your responses in the comments below, and you may even see your response featured on the blog next week, and you could earn 5,000 coins for your penguin!

Penguin of the Week #77

By Stu on October 29, 2018 | Comments

Hi Ghosts,

BOO! This post is still haunted but somewhat grammatically correct for non-ghost speakers, OooOOo!

This week goes to one of the many active players on the island, and one that shows their loyalty by also wearing their blue mailbag which is obtainable by being submitted into the Club Penguin Times three times! They’re also rocking their Treasure Book items which they got by donating to charity over the weekend by watching our podcast which you can watch here.

Make sure to look around the island for this penguin if you’re ever needing a tour guide or just a general conversation with, they’re definitely one to look out for!

The penguin we’re most curious about is… Matt555666!

Hi Penguins,

…BOO! Did we scare you? We hope so! Don’t be surprised about everything not meeting the eye, as Halloween is near. It’s time for Reviewed by You! Last week, we asked you all what your theories and feelings about the eclipse. We’ve spookily hovered and chosen two mortal responses, the first response coming from the mortal penguin Pillow, who said:

“My theory is that their are unknown forces controlling the eclipse. As we can see their is green goo in the forest, maybe this is from a creature maybe its hurt. With further investigating I have found what seems like a drawing of a penguin skeleton who ever drew that, they don’t seem very friendly.”

Unknown forces you say? Well, if you mean the paranormal, then I’d say that you might be correct on that. Oh, I can tell you, we’re very friendly. Well, some of us at least… But we’re all up for a good SCARE, so be prepared. BOO! The other mortal penguin’s response we selected was from WinterSoup90, who said:

“This event is a great kickoff for Halloween, my first theory is that a large and massive cloud is passing over the island and it will clear up in a few days or weeks. My second theory is that a relatively large celestial object is blocking the sun temporarily.”

The Island Eclipse was just the beginning of our reign of terror, hehe. KIDDING! We ghosts want nothing but to dance and to scare you mortals out of your socks. Well, that’s if you have socks, because we hope you do, as then terrifying you would be twice as fun! A massive cloud… A large celestial object… Now those sound like interesting theories to find out.

Thanks Pillow and WinterSoup90. Both of you will soon have 5,000 coins teleported to your accounts soon.

Now if you scroll down below, you’ll see this week’s question. Good luck! Hehe.

BOO! Oh, are you still not scared? You’re a tough one. Anyway, since you’ve made it this far, we may as well explain what is going on. It’s quite simple really. Us ghosts have taken over the blog! What. You’re wondering where your usual bloggers went? Uh.. Not sure. Or maybe they’re right here? Who knows…? As you’re here, you may as well reply to our special SPOOKTACTULAR question! The question is: What in your opinion makes us ghosts who we are? Is there any special requirements you think we should have?

Leave your responses in the comments below, and you may even see your response featured on the blog next week, and you could earn 5,000 coins for your mortal penguin!
